Chapter 1
Miss...Butterfly?
Stella, the longwing butterfly, is blown into a home through a kitchen window one fateful afternoon. She becomes acquainted with an odd little flower living on the wallpaper and learns a few things about the seemingly vicious cat who also lives in the home. Unfortunately, she also learns that she is trapped in this home with no means of escape.
Chapter 2
I'm a Pretty Kitty - or was it a Handsome Dog?
As Stella tries to find a way out, she encounters Buford, the cat. The meeting is awkward, but the two discover something in common - Azul, the wallflower. Buford and Stella visit Azul together and share a few laughs about Buford's run-ins with the mice in the attic. But their good time is cut short unexpectedly by the human family's arrival.
Chapter 3
I Haven't Always Looked Like This
Stella and Azul hide from the family as they pass through the kitchen. Stella is terrified of the tiny human, the family's daughter, and finds it difficult to remain calm. However, once alone, Azul and Stella have a heart-to-heart where Azul shares a time he was most scared, and Stella shares multiple surprising secrets about her life.
Chapter 4
How Time Passes for Everyone but Butterflies
Stella learns that Buford may be the key to her escape, but Buford is on his nightly rounds and won't be back for hours. Azul finally opens up to Stella, sharing stories about his many years on the wallpaper.
Chapter 5
I Wish We Would Have Met Earlier
Buford is out and about, making his nightly rounds of visiting the neighbor's pool and spying on a housecat with whom Buford is smitten. While Azul and Stella continue to wait for Buford's return, they talk about what Azul would like to do and see if he could leave his home on the wallpaper.
